High Quality Threaded Fittings We Can Supply
SSM’s Threaded Fittings are accessories that connect pipes and other equipment using threads. These fittings are suitable for piping systems that do not require welding and are commonly used in low-pressure or medium-pressure environments, such as water treatment, water supply systems, compressed air pipelines, and oil and gas applications, as well as other industrial fields. SSM strictly adheres to the ASME B16.11 standards to ensure that the threaded fittings meet high-quality and performance standards to fulfill our customer’s needs.

Common Types We Can Manufacture
We can manufacture according to ASME B16.11, MSS SP-83, and MSS SP-97 standards, or provide customized products for you.
Threaded 90-deg Elbow
Threaded 90-degree Elbow changes the direction of flow in a threaded pipe system at a 90-degree angle, commonly used to connect two pipes perpendicularly.
Threaded 45-deg Elbow
Threaded 45-degree Elbow alters the direction of flow at a 45-degree angle, providing a smoother change in direction than a 90-degree elbow, thus minimizing friction and pressure loss.
Threaded Cross
Threaded Cross connects four pipes at a single point, featuring one inlet and three outlets (or vice versa), arranged in a cross shape to facilitate multiple pipeline connections.
Threaded Tee
Threaded Tee connects three pipes at a 90-degree angle, allowing for redirection of flow from one main line to two branch lines, or vice versa.
Threaded Street Elbows
Threaded Street Elbow features a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other, enabling direction change in a piping system while accommodating different pipe sizes or fittings.
Threaded Coupling
Threaded Coupling connects two pipes of the same diameter in a straight line with female threads on both ends, ensuring a secure and tight connection without the need for welding.
Threaded Half -Coupling
Threaded Half-Coupling has female threads on one end, used to connect a single pipe to a larger piping system, often in tight spaces where a full coupling is not feasible.
Threaded Cap
Threaded Cap seals the end of a threaded pipe, stopping the flow of fluid or gas or serving as a temporary closure during maintenance.
Threaded Square Head Plug
Threaded Square Head Plug with a square head and male threads closes the end of a threaded pipe or fitting, providing easy installation and removal using a wrench.
Threaded Hex Head Plug
Threaded Hex Head Plug features a hexagonal head and male threads, designed to seal pipe ends and provide a convenient gripping surface for tools.
Threaded Round Head Plug
Threaded Round Head Plug with a round head and male threads, is used to close pipe ends in low-pressure applications, allowing for manual installation or removal.
Threaded Hex Head Bushing
Threaded Hex Head Bushing has male threads on the outside and female threads on the inside, used to connect pipes of different diameters, with the hexagonal shape facilitating easy tightening or loosening.
Threaded Flush Bushing
Threaded Flush Bushing has a flush profile with male threads on the outside, designed to reduce the size of a pipe opening and provide a smooth, unobtrusive connection.
Threadolet
Threadolet has internal threads that connect to a branch pipe via threading at a 90-degree angle to the main pipe.
Application of Threaded Fittings
SSM manufactures threaded fittings , which are used across various industries and applications to connect, redirect, or control the flow of fluids or gases in piping systems.
- Plumbing Systems: Threaded fittings are commonly used in residential and commercial plumbing to connect pipes, faucets, and fixtures, allowing for easy installation and maintenance.
- Oil and Gas Industry: In this sector, threaded fittings are utilized for connecting and redirecting pipelines, as well as in wellhead equipment and processing facilities, where they help manage high-pressure fluids.
- Chemical Processing: Threaded fittings are used in chemical plants to handle various chemicals and fluids, providing reliable connections in processing and storage systems.
- Water Treatment: These fittings are employed in water treatment plants for connecting pipes and valves in filtration, purification, and distribution systems.
Advantages of Threaded Fittings
Our threaded fittings are popular not only because of these advantages,
- Ease of Installation: Easy to assemble and disassemble without the need for special tools or welding, making them ideal for quick repairs or modifications.
- Cost-Effective: Generally cheaper than welded fittings because they do not require welding or skilled labor.
- Reusability: Can be easily removed and reused, which is cost-efficient for temporary or frequently changed systems.
- No Welding Needed: Suitable for environments where welding is impractical or not allowed, such as in explosive atmospheres or when dealing with specific chemicals.
Disadvantages of Threaded Fittings
SSM reminds you that while threaded fittings offer many advantages in specific applications, they also have some drawbacks. When selecting our fittings, please consider the following issues:
- Leakage Risk: More prone to leaks compared to welded or flanged connections, especially under high pressure or in vibrating conditions.
- Limited Pressure and Temperature Range: Generally not suitable for very high-pressure or high-temperature applications.
- Corrosion at Threads: Threads can be susceptible to corrosion over time, especially in harsh environments.
- Size Limitation: Typically limited to small-diameter pipes, not suitable for larger pipeline systems.
- Alignment Issues: Proper alignment is necessary for a tight, leak-free seal, and repeated assembly/disassembly can cause thread wear.
