Threaded Cross
The Threaded Cross features a cross-shaped structure with four threaded outlets, making it convenient for multi-directional fluid distribution and connection. The threads comply with common standards, such as ASME B16.11, and are suitable for threaded piping systems. It comes in various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel. Its easy installation, requiring no welding, makes it ideal for small to medium-sized piping systems.
High Quality Threaded Cross We Can Supply
SSM produces Threaded Cross fittings, also known as threaded four-way or pipe thread crosses. They have four outlets arranged in a cross shape, used to connect four pipes together. Each outlet features internal or external threads, allowing connection with threaded pipes. We typically offer the following products:
NPS | 1/8 | 1/4 | 3/8 | 1/2 |
3/4 | 1 | 1 1/4 | 1 1/2 | |
2 | 2 1/2 | 3 | 4 | |
Class Designation | 3000 | 6000 | 9000 | |
Material | A105, A182, A350, B462, or B564. |
The Materials of Threaded Elbow We Can Provide
SSM’s threaded cross are manufactured from controllable raw materials with strict quality control. We commonly supply fittings made from the following materials:
Carbon Steel Threaded Cross
Carbon steel threaded cross provides high strength and durability, allowing it to withstand high-pressure and high-temperature environments. It is commonly used in oil, gas, chemical, and industrial piping systems. The carbon steel threaded cross enables multi-directional fluid distribution and serves as a cost-effective solution for small to medium-sized piping systems.
Common Grades: ASTM A105, ASTM A350.
Stainless Steel Threaded Cross
Stainless steel threaded cross offers excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for demanding environments such as chemical, oil, gas, and food processing industries. It also has high strength and heat resistance, allowing it to withstand harsh working conditions. The stainless steel threaded cross is easy to install without the need for welding, providing a reliable and durable solution for small to medium-sized piping systems.
Common Grades: ASTM A182 F304/F304L , ASTM A182 F316/F316L
Alloy Steel Threaded Cross
Alloy steel threaded cross, enhanced by the addition of elements like chromium, molybdenum, and nickel, improves its strength, wear resistance, and resistance to high temperatures and corrosion. This makes it particularly suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, and harsh corrosive environments, such as in the oil, gas, chemical, and power industries. The alloy steel threaded cross is easy to install without welding, making it an ideal solution for multi-directional fluid distribution.
Common Grades: ASTM A182 F11, ASTM A182 F22.
Nikel Alloy Threaded Cross
Nickel alloy threaded cross offers exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in high-temperature, high-pressure, and highly corrosive environments, such as in chemical, marine, oil, and gas industries. Due to its high strength and oxidation resistance, nickel alloy threaded cross maintains stability and a long service life under harsh conditions. It is easy to install without welding, making it an ideal choice for complex piping systems.
Common Grades: Inconel 600, Inconel 625, Monel 400, Hastelloy C276.
NPT BSPP BSPT Threaded Cross
- NPT (National Pipe Thread): Primarily used in the United States and Canada. Thread angle is 60 degrees. Tapered thread.
- BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper):Primarily used in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Thread angle is 55 degrees. Tapered thread.
- BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel): Primarily used in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Thread angle is 55 degrees. Parallel thread.
Ensure you select the correct thread type for your piping system to ensure a proper seal and long-term reliability. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Application of Threaded Cross
Threaded cross is mainly used in the following areas:
- Industrial Piping Systems
- Water and Wastewater Systems
- HVAC Systems
- Marine Applications
- Construction and Plumbing
- Automotive and Aerospace
Advantages & Disadvantages of Threaded Cross
Advantages: The Threaded Cross is easy to install and remove without the need for welding or special tools, making it suitable for systems that require frequent disassembly. It is also cost-effective to manufacture and install, particularly for small diameter and low-pressure piping systems. Its diverse material options make it suitable for various environments, including oil, gas, chemical, and marine industries, handling different temperatures and pressures.
Disadvantages: Compared to welded connections, threaded connections have a lower pressure rating, typically suitable only for medium to low-pressure piping systems. Threaded connections may be affected by vibration and temperature changes, posing a risk of leaks over time, requiring regular inspection and maintenance. Additionally, Threaded Crosses are generally used for small diameter pipes (usually under 4 inches) and are not suitable for large piping systems.
