Advantages
Square-head bolts offer several advantages. Disadvantages
However, square-head bolts are less common than hex-head bolts, which makes specific sizes or materials harder to find. They may also be less compatible with modern tools, as fewer tools are designed explicitly for square heads, requiring more specialized tools. The industrial or vintage appearance of square-head bolts may not fit the aesthetic requirements of modern applications. Installing them can be more challenging when socket wrenches or power tools are needed, as hex-head bolts are more compatible with these tools.
