High-Quality Monel K500 Flange
The Monel K500 flange produced by SSM is a high-performance flange made of Monel 500 alloy, a nickel-copper alloy with added aluminum and titanium. Due to its age-hardening properties, this alloy is stronger and more corrosion-resistant than Monel 400.
The Monel 500 flanges we offer include the following types:
- Types : Weld Neck (WN), Long Weld Neck (LWN), Slip-On (SO), Blind, Lap Joint, Socket Weld (SW), Threaded, and Other Products
- Size: 1/2" - 48", 150# - 1500#
- Producing Standard: ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 Series A & B, EN1092-1:2002, etc.
- Materials: ASTM B564 MONEL K500

UNS N05500 Flanges by Types
Monel K500 is a high-performance nickel-copper alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and enhanced mechanical strength. It is widely used in demanding applications where both high strength and resistance to harsh environments are required. Here’s a detailed introduction to the different types of Monel K500 flanges:
Monel K500 Weld Neck Flanges
Monel K500 weld neck flanges provide excellent strength and stability, reduces stress concentration, and is suitable for high-pressure and temperature applications.
UNS N05500 Slip-On Flanges
Slip-on Monel K500 flanges are easier to install and align; less costly compared to welding neck flanges; suitable for lower pressure applications.
MONEL K500 Threaded Flanges
Monel k500 Threaded Flange is suitable for small diameter, high pressure systems, especially in flammable and explosive areas
Alloy K500 Socket Weld Flanges
Monel K500 socket weld flanges provides a strong connection, suitable for high-pressure applications, and reduces the risk of leakage.
Monel K500 Lap Joint Flanges
Monel K500 alloy lap joint flanges are easier to align and disassemble, ideal for applications where frequent disassembly is required, and can accommodate pipe misalignment.
Alloy K500 Blind Flanges
Blind Monel K500 flanges provide a solid seal, often used for maintenance or testing, and can withstand high pressure.
Advantages and Disadvantages Monel K500 Flanges
Advantages:
1. Increased Strength: Monel flanges K500 have higher mechanical strength than other Monel alloys, such as Monel 400. This makes them suitable for high-pressure and high-stress applications.
2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: They exhibit superior resistance to various corrosive environments, including seawater, acids, and bases, helping to ensure longevity and reliability in harsh conditions.
3. Resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking: Monel flanges K500 are highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking, making them ideal for use in environments where such failures are a concern.
4. Good Temperature Stability: These flanges maintain their mechanical properties over various temperatures, from cryogenic to high temperatures, ensuring consistent performance under varying conditions.
5. High Durability: They have good resistance to corrosion and fatigue, providing a durable solution for demanding applications.
Disadvantages:
1. Cost: Due to raw material costs and complex manufacturing processes, Monel flanges K500 are generally more expensive than other materials.
2. Machinability: Compared to some other materials, the alloy can be difficult to machine, and specialized equipment and techniques may be required.
3. Limited Supply: Monel K500 may not be as readily available as other, more common alloys, resulting in longer procurement lead times.
4. Weight: Monel K500 is denser than other materials, which may result in heavier parts and potentially increased shipping costs.
5. Alloy Complexity: Monel K500’s specific alloy composition, including the addition of aluminum and titanium, may make it more challenging to weld than simpler alloys.
